Does this not look like a perfect way to spend the afternoon...a sunset sail around the Gulf of Mexico off of Fort Myers Beach.

Bridal Veil Spirea

It is Spring Break for most schools in Georgia, including ours. We are enjoying the lazy days of not having to be up so early. It has been bizarre weather this week. Tuesday it snowed (did not stick but still snowed) and reached maybe 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Yesterday was bright and sunny and well into the 70s. Today we have rain, thunderstorms, and vicious lightning. It is also our 2 year anniversary so this photo of Bridal Veil Spirea seems fitting.

Monday will be lots of fun...back to work on the 1 year anniversary of the wreck that ruined our spring and pretty much our summer last year. It will also be the day that I go to the Orthopedic doctor for my final visit, at least until many years down the road (hopefully). The doctors say that the hip will eventually be worn out from rubbing on the ridges that naturally develop when fractures heal. The good side of it is that I did much better than any of my doctors would have expected. Lots of prayers and hard work made that happen.

The hubby has something up his sleeve for me tonight...but won't even give me a clue. That is ok...he did not have any idea what his anniversary/birthday present was from me (and my parents for his birthday). This should be fun! He rarely tries to surprise me. Kinda hard when we are together so much...working at the same place and all.

Signing off now...I must get ready to go and that calls for a nice long shower.

I cannot wait for Summer! I am so ready to go to the beach that I can almost taste the salt air. For now I will have to look at photos like this of Lake Burton and wish for the fun and warmth of summer. I can pictures kids swinging out over the lake and when they get just far enough, jumping off and hitting the ever cool to cold water.

Just looking at the calendar and it is 12 working days until spring break. The AMA races will be a Road Atlanta and hopefully the weather will be warm and sunny. I dread having to wear jeans to go to the races. It just won't seen right since this set of races used to be held over Labor Day weekend. For the rest of the time...I have no clue what we will do. The day we come back to work from break will be the 1year anniversary of the wreck. It is hard to believe that it is just a few short weeks away from 1 year!

Spring is on it's way! Winter honeysuckle will give way to spring soon. The daffodils are slowly blooming and the trees are starting to bud. I cannot wait! I am ready for warm weather, time at the beach, and school is on its downward slide. Yeah.

Ok, so I am not very good at this at least 1 post per week thing...life gets in the way. Last week was pretty cool...had a conference in Savannah, GA and got to do some fun stuff while we were there.

Bonaventure Cemetery - if anyone has read or seen "Midnight in the garden good and evil" you may recognize this name. It is on the grounds of what used to be a plantation in Savannah. Really neat older headstones and markers.

Fort Pulaski - federally built, occupied in the following order: Union Soldiers, Confederate Soldiers, and back to the Union Soldiers. In addition to being a fort, after the Civil War it became a location along the underground railroad. With all of those types of people in there can you imagine if walls could talk? They have to have some stories to tell.

I will try and do better at this...try. I get so behind on my stuff because work can be such a headache.

Can we say...overload. I love going to Barber Motorsports Museum and taking it all in. The problem is that there are 4 floors with more stuff to look at than you can even get to in a day. This is just a sampling...

I know, not much of a post but I am to tired right now to think about much more than a day off. TGIF!

At least at the end of the day I can still find some beauty in the world around me.

Can we say that work is quite overwhelming right now...I have been named webmaster of our new website that has a content management system. It will be great when everyone is up to speed. The down side is everyone is not and I am the only one that can teach them. I thought about being a teacher at one point. I guess I am getting my wish in some way. At least everyone has been very open to the process! This weekend is a long weekend for us...the perks of working in education. It will be a busy one but I will get to take lots of pictures. =)

Does it ever feel like a long week. I have been on one project to another. At least I am making headway. Now its working on forms for publishing online at work. I do love MSExcel. The bright spot was a beautiful sunset Monday. I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

New camera...

Here is one of the first shot with the new camera...FujiFilm S1000fd. I know, not a dslr, but it does take great pictures and not having to mess with all the gear sometimes will be rather nice.

Tradition in our family is to have ham, greens, and black eyed peas on New Years Day...so we were all at Mom & Dad's yesterday. I had the chance to just wandered around and take some pictures so here is a sampling:

Not much news from here...just enjoying the break and spending time with family. It is back to the real world on Monday...back to work.
